*About Studio Enertia Collective
We are Studio Enertia Collective, a creative arts collective formed by Houston-based performer/composer and filmmaker Lisa E. Harris and Pittsburgh-based new media artist and curator Alisha B. Wormsley. Together we create works focused on Time and Memory; collectively the human experience stemming from Africa. The beginning. Everything, past, present, and future, all happening simultaneously. A kind of Ancient Futurism. We are constantly experimenting with new methods of storytelling. Because our work is in the fifth dimension we are composing pathways and new language to transport to these often future tropes. Our catalogue is made of sculptural installations, performance art, sound art, video and photography, that explore our ongoing research in themes of the African Diaspora, social justice, urban mythology, environmental transformation, non -verbal communication, magic, the Divine Feminine, and other metaphysical interests.
Currently we are developing several long term projects that could benefit greatly from research and development. Some of these projects include:
Lilith, a mixed media opera in 3 Acts, adapted around the Sumerian Goddess Lilith but set in the near future where she is hunted by a species of Alien Birds.
The Children of Nan, a series of sci-fi experimental films commissioned by the Andy Warhol Museum, that theorize polarities of race and gender at the edge of a post apocalyptic digital age.
There Are Black People In the Future, reverberations of archival and found objects.
Cry of the Third Eye, a new opera film, a decade long trilogy that documents the changing landscape, displacement and migration patterns of Houston’s Historic Third Ward district.
