afram

AFRAM, African-America, is an inner space reality for Black exponential potential of Being. In AFRAM, Black people can dream. We can wake up. We can build. Black people can be Black and Indigenous at the same time. We can be alone. We can be angry. We can be Trans. We can be lazy. We can trust. We can be uncertain. We can be innocent. We can be mediocre. We can be evil. We can be bored. We can transform. We can BE.

New Media Artist Alisha B. Wormsley and LI are co-creating a series of filmed site-specific portal activations designed to offer access to AFRAM. It is intended that these portals, unearthed and activated at highly charged meridian points across planet Earth, will grant Black and Indigenous peoples clear access to travel beyond the confines of their physical bodies to places where their metaphysical values are venerated and not mined. This video collaboration will be a part of the Fall 2023 premiere of d.r.e.a.m.= A way to afram.
